The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) is a rigorous research-based program that will prepare proven business professionals to expand their breadth of knowledge and abilities in leadership, innovation and customer engagement.  The program facilitates the transition toward a new career by developing a comprehensive understanding of the discipline and essential research methods. The program offers a mixed-mode programme with a combination of coursework and research activities. The assessment depends upon both the coursework and dissertation (research work). A doctorate in business prepares you to conduct applied research in specific business disciplines, allowing you to pursue an advanced career in corporations, banks, government agencies, and research-oriented consulting positions.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • A Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) in related fields as accepted by the HEP Senate; OR
  • A Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) in non-related fields as accepted by the HEP Senate, subject to having relevant working experience and rigorous internal assessment; OR
  • A Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) in non-related fields as accepted by the HEP Senate and without relevant working experience subject to passing pre-requisite courses; OR
  • Other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) in the field or related fields recognised by the Government of Malaysia.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum overall TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based) or 80 (internet-based); OR
  • A minimum IELTS (academic) overall band score of 6.0; OR
  • A minimum credit in 1119 English Examination; OR
  • A minimum MUET overall band score of 4; OR
  • Any other equivalent qualification as determined by the Senate of the University

The English language requirement and English interview is waived for the candidates who are natives of and/or have completed their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from countries that use English as the medium of instruction as well as the first language.

  • Duration of study: Minimum 3 years (1 year of coursework + 2 years of dissertation)
  • Class sessions: Weekend
  • No. of semesters per year: 6 short semesters.
  • No. of subjects taken per short semester: 2 subjects
