The Learning Institute for Empowerment (LIfE) at its Melaka campus orchestrated a vibrant celebration in honour of Malaysia’s 66th Independence Day. The centrepiece of this commemoration was the Merdeka Decoration Contest, which kicked off in mid-August and was set to culminate on 11 September 2023.

In this spirited contest, 30 dedicated lecturers transformed their workspaces and corridors into a tapestry of Merdeka-themed artistry, infused with the profound essence of independence and unity. Dubbed “The Harmony Lane,” this corridor serves as a canvas for the nation’s collective pride, decorated with an array of national and state flags, traditional attire, heartfelt poetry, and striking Independence Day posters, all crafted with care and creativity by these devoted educators.

The driving force behind this heartwarming initiative is the LIfE Staff Club. They have extended a warm invitation to Professor Dr. Abdul Mohaimin bin Noordin Ayus, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, to oversee the selection of winners. This initiative to decorate ‘The Harmony Lane’ at LIfE’s Melaka campus not only highlights the remarkable diversity and cultural tapestry of Malaysia but also promotes an environment of unity, mutual understanding, and tolerance among various communities.

This artistic effort beautifully reflects Malaysia’s rich blend of cultures and shows how people from varied backgrounds come together in harmony in the country. It’s essential to embrace our variety because it reminds us to celebrate our distinctions and integrate them into our country’s vibrant culture.

Well done!
