On 3 July 2018, more than 50 Multimedia University (MMU) alumni graduated way back in 2000 from various faculties attended the MMU Alumni CEO Engagement at the Marriott Hotel in Putrajaya. With its theme “Modelling Trendsetting IHL”, it was co-organised by Centre for Alumni (CfA) and Entrepreneur Development Centre (EDC) with the support of MMU Alumni Society. The event was graced by Prof. Datuk Dr. Ahmad Rafi Mohamed Eshaq, President of MMU.
During his speech, Prof. Rafi mentioned that he was very pleased with the alumni support in an effort of giving back to their alma mater. This event served as one of the initiatives to engage with notable alumni as well as to share industrial experience for industry development. During the event, MMU Entrepreneurship Ambassador Awards were presented to two prominent alumni, Ms. Juhaidah Joemin, Co-Founder of Giggle Garage Sdn. Bhd. and Mr. Mohd Ghazzali Abu Bakar, CEO of Fantasy Film Sdn. Bhd. in recognising their success and talent as entrepreneur alumni.
Other than that, there were two speakers were invited in sharing their perspectives on the 4th Industrial Revolution Challenges. The speakers were Datuk (Dr.) Hafsah Hashim, CEO of SME Corporation Malaysia and Ir. Ts. Choo Kok Beng, a member of Board of Directors, Malaysia Board of Technologists. A roundtable discussion was also held after the speaker sessions amongst the alumni in discussing several topics of producing relevant taskforce, trendsetting academic programmes, closing academia-industry gap, intensifying customer experience and elevating student ventures. It was a rewarding event when it received positive remarks and support from the alumni.
