We are pleased to announce that our MMU lecturer, Ms Heidi-Tan won first place at Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition on 27 June 2018. There were 61 contestants from 22 Malaysian universities participated in three categories namely Science & Technology, Engineering and Social Science. The competition was co-organised by Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) and Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) which was held at UTP, Seri Iskandar Perak.

Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is a research communication developed by the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia. It challenges PHD students to present a compelling oration on their thesis topics and its significance in just three minutes. Ms Heidi was selected to represent MMU in a national level competition after she won 1st place in the Social Science category during the 3MT competition that was held in MMU.

During the national competition, Ms Heidi was selected as a finalist by a panel of 6 judges during the national competition, and she was announced as the first place winner for Social Science Category. The prize ceremony was graced by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim bin Abdul Mutalib, the Vice Chancellor of UTP and Prof. Dr. Mohd Sahandri Gani Hamzah , the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic and International of UPSI.
