The Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI) extended a warm reception to 24 postgraduate students and one junior faculty member from the EMPI Institution in New Delhi, India on 19 and 20 March 2024.  This collaborative endeavour commenced with an engaging ice-breaking session at the MMU Cinema, followed by a comprehensive introduction to MMU and Malaysia by Dr. Abdul Aziz Ahmad, Director of International Collaboration and Engagement.

Subsequently, the EMPI students were treated to a captivating tour of Cyberjaya campus, immersing themselves in its innovative environment. The students also listened to an enlightening lecture titled “Emergence of Malaysia’s Digital Economy” by Dr. Navaneethan C. Arjuman from FCI, which offers valuable insights into the nation’s technological landscape.

As part of their industry immersion experience, the students also embarked on a visit to the TMR&D Centre in Cyberjaya, gaining a firsthand exposure to cutting-edge research and development initiatives. The day culminated in a vibrant cross-cultural showcase, where both EMPI and MMU participants celebrated diversity and shared experiences.

The following day, MMU curated yet another insightful industry tour, this time leading the participants to the Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation (MRANTI) nestled in Taman Teknologi Malaysia, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. This collaborative exchange between FCI and EMPI signifies a significant stride towards nurturing global citizenship and equipping students with the skills needed to thrive in an interconnected world. Through the exchange of knowledge, cultural immersion, and joint endeavours, MMU remains steadfast in its commitment to excellence in education and international engagement.
