A total of 25 international exchange students from Japan, Germany and China was welcomed during a welcoming ceremony and network luncheon by the Faculty of Business (FOB) recently. The international exchange students are from Kanagawa University, Japan; Technical University of Munich and Hof University of Applied Sciences, Germany; Chongqing Three Gorges Polytechnic College and Chongqing Vocational Institute of Engineering, China.

The event was graced by the attendance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gerald Goh Guan Gan (Dean of FOB). Also present were Dr. Tan Pei Kian (Deputy Dean, Academic & Internationalisation I), Ms Nun Shwu Huey (Deputy Dean, Academic & Internationalisation II), Mr Tan Gek Siang (International Student Exchange Coordinator), lecturers and the representative from International Students Centre.

The event was kicked off with a welcoming Malay traditional dance performed by the MMU students. It was followed by an insightful and imperative speech from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gerald Goh. In his welcoming remark, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gerald Goh hoped the exchange students to treasure this exchange opportunity to explore different cultures in Malaysia. Next, the audience was mesmerised by a showcase of performances such as solo singing of Japanese song, Hindustan dance and group singing of Permata Dunia performed by the MMU students. The performance exuberantly lit up the atmosphere and got the guests moved along the classic rhythm as well. The highlight of the event was a group singing and sign language performance by the exchange students from China with the song entitled “Nation”.

The event was continued with the presentation of bunga telur and dodol as souvenirs by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gerald Goh to each of the exchange students. The event was wrapped up with a group-photo taking session and networking luncheon, serving the guests with mouthwatering Malay cuisines. To all newly arrived exchange students, we wish you have a wonderful time in Multimedia University and fond memories to cherish for a lifetime.
