A comprehensive four-year programme to equip students with the sound knowledge of mechanical engineering for R&D, as well as for designing, testing, analysing and manufacturing mechanical systems ranging from miniature MEMS systems to complex systems such as the combustion engine

Programme Outcomes

  • Acquire and apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals
  • Acquire technical competence in specialized areas of engineering discipline to solve complex engineering problems
  • Identify and analyze complex engineering problems, and formulate solutions based on fundamental principles of science and engineering
  • Design solutions for complex engineering problems that meet specified needs with relevant considerations of their impacts in society
  • Conduct investigation and research on complex engineering problems in the chosen field of study
  • Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools to complex engineering activities
  • Demonstrate awareness of societal, safety and health, legal, and cultural issues relevant to professional engineering practice
  • Understand the importance of sustainability and cost-effectiveness in design and development of professional engineering solutions, and their impacts in societal and environmental contexts
  • Apply and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities of engineering practice

Entry Requirements

Either of the following:
  • Pass in related Foundation programme from a recognised institution
  • Or Pass in A Level / equivalent with 3 principals inclusive of Mathematics and Physics
  • Or Pass in related Diploma from a recognised institution


  • A minimum score of 5.0 for IELTS or its equivalent
Either of the following:
  • Pass Foundation /Matriculation in related field from a recognised institution
  • Pass STPM / A Level or its equivalent with 3 principals inclusive of Mathematics and Physics
  • Pass UEC with minimum of grade B in at least five (5) subjects inclusive of Mathematics and Physics
  • Pass Diploma in related field from recognised institution
