More than 50 student groups showcased their cybersecurity projects and solutions at the Cybersecurity Showcase 2026, held at the Persada Permata Dunia Hall, MMU Melaka, in September 2026. Organised by the Faculty of Business (FOB) under the theme “Securing the Age of Generative AI,” the showcase brought students together with academics, industry practitioners and regulatory stakeholders to explore emerging cybersecurity challenges.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Prof. Dr. Hishamuddin Bin Ismail, Director of Melaka campus, who highlighted the need to equip graduates with the knowledge, digital skills and ethical awareness to navigate the evolving technology landscape. He also noted that while Generative AI offers new opportunities for innovation, it brings emerging cybersecurity risks that require responsible use and greater awareness.
The event also featured the Kempen Internet Selamat (KIS) by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), including an awareness talk by Puan Normariza Abdul Manan on cyberbullying, cyberstalking and other online threats. NADI also participated by providing information on registration and a VR experience that exposed students to cyberbullying scenarios and highlighted the importance of responsible online behaviour and reporting harmful incidents.
The programme continued with a forum titled “AI and Cybersecurity: Risks, Challenges, and Opportunities”, moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Liew Tze Wei, featuring Ts. Law Tien Soon, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Innov8tif Solutions Sdn. Bhd., and Mr. Pau Kiu Nai, Lecturer from the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST), MMU. The discussion explored the changing cybersecurity landscape and the opportunities and challenges brought about by artificial intelligence.
The showcase concluded with project judging and a prize presentation recognising outstanding student projects and innovative solutions. Dr. Siti Zakiah Melatu Samsi, Dean of the Faculty of Business, said the showcase reflected the Faculty’s efforts to provide students with opportunities to apply their knowledge through experiential learning, industry engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration, while developing greater awareness of cybersecurity and responsible technology use.
Well done!
