Students from the Faculty of Business (FOB) brought their Innovation & Design Thinking course projects into an industry setting when they presented their prototypes to Cyberview Sdn. Bhd. during an industrial visit in September 2026.

The visit, organised for Diploma students enrolled in the course, provided an opportunity for the students to present their ideas to industry professionals and gain feedback on how their concepts could be further developed for practical application.

Among the prototypes presented was GreenDro, a mobile application developed to address unhealthy dietary habits among university students. The concept combines a vertical hydroponic farming system at student hostels with a mobile application that allows students to monitor plant growth, receive harvest notifications and access healthy eating information.

The GreenDro team also explored the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technology with the application to enhance its functionality. Cyberview representatives encouraged the students to further refine their prototypes and highlighted the potential of their ideas for practical application and future commercialisation.

At least two student groups presented their prototypes during the engagement, with Cyberview representatives sharing feedback on the students’ creativity, problem-solving approaches and the potential of their ideas. The visit also included a visit to Beryl’s Wonderland in Seri Kembangan, where students gained exposure to the operations and business practices of a leading local chocolate brand.

The industry engagement also opened opportunities for further collaboration between FOB and the industry partners, including potential involvement in IBIC 2027 through industry sharing sessions, mentorship and other initiatives to enhance students’ industry exposure.

The visit gave students an opportunity to move beyond classroom discussions by presenting their ideas to industry professionals, receiving practical feedback and gaining a clearer understanding of what it takes to develop an idea into a viable solution.
