CrypTool Session Broadens Students’ Understanding of Digital Security

A guest lecture entitled “Secure Text Processing Made Easy with CrypTool” was held on 22 June 2026 and delivered by Prof. Dr. Lordwin Cecil Prabahar M from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, who also serves as the Coordinator of International Relations at Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, India.

The session exposed students to the importance of secure communication and data protection in today’s digital world. Through examples and discussions, they gained a better understanding of how cybersecurity principles are applied in real-life situations and their relevance to language technologies and computing. The lecture also encouraged students to think critically about digital security, privacy, and the responsible use of technology.

The session was coordinated by Ts. Dr. Sumendra Yogarayan, with support from Dr. Jashila Nair Mogan, Mr. Thinesh Ganesan, and Ms. Pa Pa Min. Overall, the lecture was insightful and enriching, broadening students’ perspectives through international academic knowledge sharing while fostering greater awareness of global developments in technology and cybersecurity.
