
More than 100 Form 4 students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Putrajaya Presint 8 (1) participated in a knowledge transfer programme entitled “Promoting and Practicing Green Habits 3.0” on 10 June 2026. Led by Project Leader, Prof. Dr. Chong Chin Wei, the programme was delivered by Ms. Fatin Zaida Zaidi and Ms. Nurul Atiah Mohd Zin, with support from Dr. Kyra Law and Dr. Josh Si Chong En. The initiative aimed to raise environmental awareness and encourage students to adopt sustainable practices through engaging learning activities and knowledge-sharing sessions.
During the programme, students were introduced to the importance of green habits and the role individuals play in protecting the environment. The speakers highlighted key environmental challenges such as pollution, excessive waste generation, and unsustainable consumption practices. Particular emphasis was placed on the impact of single-use plastics and the importance of reducing plastic dependency through responsible daily choices. Students actively participated in discussions, sharing their views and experiences on environmental conservation.
The programme successfully enhanced students’ understanding of environmental sustainability while promoting responsible citizenship and greener lifestyles. Many participants expressed their commitment to reducing the use of single-use plastics and adopting more environmentally friendly habits. Through meaningful engagement and knowledge transfer, the initiative contributed to nurturing environmentally conscious individuals who can play an active role in creating a more sustainable future.
