TM R&D Hosts IEEE Distinguished Lecturer from Royal Bank of Canada on Cybersecurity

TM R&D recently hosted Dr Fatima Hussain, Principal SaaS Security Architect at the Royal Bank of Canada, for its Big Idea Lecture Series. The session, titled “Emerging Cybersecurity Threats and Current State-of-the-Art”, covered key developments in the cybersecurity landscape, including enterprise security solutions, Generative AI, Agentic AI, insider threats, and Explainable AI.

Dr Fatima also highlighted the importance of cybersecurity awareness in today’s digital environment, noting that while technological advancement brings greater connectivity and convenience, it also introduces increased security risks. As she shared, “Innovation is good; staying connected is good; but at the same time, you are increasing the threats for yourself.”
