Ts. Dr. Sumendra Yogayaran, Deputy Dean of Postgraduate and Collaborations from the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST) represented MMU to participate in CESI International Week 2026 in France, recently.
Dr. Sumendra joined academics and experts from several countries in a series of academic, networking, and intercultural exchange activities. The programme provided a platform to share best practices, explore potential collaborations, and strengthen relationships with international partner institutions.
As part of the programme, Dr. Sumendra conducted a session titled “The Connected World: An IoT Design Sprint for Smart and Sustainable Systems” involving students from CESI’s Nancy and Strasbourg campuses. The participants, comprising students from the Artificial Intelligence & Big Data, Cybersecurity, and Embedded Systems programmes, worked in groups to explore how Internet of Things (IoT) technologies can be leveraged to address real-world sustainability challenges. The session encouraged design thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving while showcasing the students’ creativity and innovative ideas.
The programme also offered valuable insights into CESI’s educational approach, particularly its implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL), as well as research activities conducted at the CESI LINEACT Laboratory. In addition, Dr. Sumendra took part in institutional presentations, networking sessions, cultural exchanges, and visits to historical sites in Nancy and Strasbourg.
MMU’s participation in CESI International Week 2026 reflects the University’s ongoing efforts to expand international partnerships, enhance academic excellence, and create meaningful opportunities for global collaboration in education and research.
