International Collaboration and Engagement (ICE) unit recently welcomed approximately 150 students from the School of Information Technology of Mapúa University, Philippines, as part of their International Technical Visit and Educational Tour programme in June 2026.
Recognising MMU’s reputation as a premier digital technology university and its strategic location in Cyberjaya within Malaysia’s Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC), the visit aimed to provide students with valuable exposure to emerging technologies, innovation ecosystems, and international education opportunities.
The programme commenced with an introduction to MMU and its student exchange and mobility opportunities by the International Collaboration and Engagement (ICE) unit. This was followed by an engaging talk titled “IT Innovation – Shaping the Future Career” delivered by Ms. Nor Idayu Ahmad Azami from the Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI), where students gained insights into current technological developments and future career pathways in the digital industry.
To further enrich the learning experience, the delegation participated in a campus tour that included visits to the Faculty of Computing and Informatics, the Smart Farm Lab, the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lab, the Siti Hasmah Digital Library, and Dewan Tun Canselor. The tour provided participants with a closer look at MMU’s academic facilities, research capabilities, and innovation-driven learning environment. The students also enjoyed an interactive singing session at the Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM) Cinema, fostering cultural exchange and creating memorable experiences beyond the classroom.
The visit served as a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and engagement between the two institutions. It also marked an important step towards exploring future collaboration in student exchange and mobility programmes between MMU and Mapúa University. It is hoped that this visit will strengthen ties and foster meaningful partnership in the years ahead.
