On 22 July 2026, the Faculty of Business (FOB), in collaboration with Sekolah Menengah Sains Datuk Setia Abdul Ghani Ali, successfully organised the Knowledge Transfer Programme (KTP) 2026 entitled “CyberSmart: Fundamental Cybersecurity Awareness for Secondary School Students.” The programme was designed to enhance cybersecurity awareness among secondary school students and equip them with the essential knowledge and skills to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly.
The programme engaged Form 1 to Form 3 students through a series of interactive, student-centred learning activities, including cybersecurity quizzes, phishing email simulations, scam awareness discussions, password-strength challenges, and cyber safety poster presentations. These hands-on activities provided students with practical exposure to common online threats while fostering critical thinking skills in evaluating digital information and identifying potential cyber risks. Through active participation, students gained valuable insights into cybersecurity concepts, online safety practices, personal data protection, and responsible digital citizenship.
The initiative aimed to empower students to recognise cyber threats, protect their personal information, create strong and secure passwords, and make informed decisions when interacting online. By promoting awareness of phishing, online scams, privacy protection, and digital identity management, the programme contributed to developing a generation of informed and responsible internet users who are better prepared to face the challenges of today’s increasingly connected digital environment.
The success of the programme was made possible through the dedication and commitment of the project team led by Ms. Siti Nurul Huda Mohd, alongside Dr. Yeo Sook Fern, Ms. Haniza Hashim, Ms. Nur Baiti Shafee, and Ms. Shadia Suhaimi. Through their expertise, enthusiasm, and collaborative efforts, the team delivered an engaging and impactful learning experience, inspiring students to become more cyber-aware, digitally responsible, and proactive in safeguarding themselves against online threats. Their contribution reflects MMU’s ongoing commitment to community engagement, knowledge sharing, and the development of digitally resilient future generations.
