In line with MMU’s efforts to strengthen research excellence and increase the visibility of its scholarly outputs, the Centre of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence (CoE AI) also organised the Publication Writing Workshop Series 2026: From Research to Publication Success on 11 and 12 June 2026 at the FIST Smart Lab, MMU Melaka. The programme brought together researchers, academic staff, and postgraduate students to enhance their publication skills and gain practical strategies for publishing in high-impact journals.

The workshop featured two key sessions, namely Strategic Publishing in High-Impact Journals and a Hands-on Manuscript Review Clinic. Conducted in a hybrid format, the programme attracted strong participation from both on-site and online attendees. A highlight of the workshop was the opportunity for participants to receive direct manuscript reviews and one-to-one consultations from Prof. Dr. Mohd Saberi Mohamad, Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology and Chief Executive Officer and Director of the Institute for Data Innovation and Artificial Intelligence (IDEA-AI), Australia. Drawing on his extensive experience in artificial intelligence research and scholarly publishing, he shared valuable insights on journal selection, manuscript positioning, publication planning, and responding effectively to reviewers’ comments.

The workshop was organised by Ts. Dr. Nor Hidayati Abdul Aziz, Chairperson of the Centre for Advanced Analytics (CAA), in collaboration with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nor Azlina Ab. Aziz, Deputy Director of the Research Management Centre (RMC) responsible for MMU publication initiatives. The programme reflects MMU’s ongoing commitment to building research capacity, enhancing publication quality, and increasing the impact of its research outputs. Through initiatives such as this, the university continues to support researchers in translating quality research into meaningful scholarly contributions at the national and international levels.
