The “Promoting and Practicing PAWE 3.0” Knowledge Transfer Programme (KTP) was conducted on 11 June 2026 in collaboration with PAWE Subang Jaya (Persatuan Aktiviti Warga Emas Subang Jaya), under the Department of Social Welfare Malaysia (JKM). The programme involved approximately 30 senior citizens and aimed to promote environmental awareness while encouraging the adoption of sustainable practices through interactive learning and knowledge-sharing activities.

The session was led by Project Leader Prof. Dr. Chong Chin Wei, and delivered by Dr. Kyra Law and Dr. Josh Si Chong En. The initiative was further supported by Ms. Fatin Zaida Zaidi and Ms. Nurul Atiah Mohd Zin, whose contributions helped ensure the smooth implementation of the programme. The collaboration reflects MMU’s continued efforts in community engagement through structured Knowledge Transfer Programme (KTP) initiatives.

During the session, participants were introduced to key environmental issues such as pollution, excessive waste generation, and unsustainable consumption practices. Particular emphasis was placed on the environmental impact of single-use plastics and the importance of reducing plastic dependency through responsible consumer behaviour. The presenters also shared practical examples of how small lifestyle changes can contribute to long-term environmental sustainability.

The session encouraged active participation, with senior citizens enthusiastically sharing their views and personal experiences related to environmental conservation. Many participants expressed their commitment to adopting greener lifestyles and reducing the use of single-use plastics in their daily routines. The programme reflects MMU’s ongoing commitment to fostering environmental awareness and promoting sustainable living practices across different segments of society through impactful KTP initiatives.
