
An international online academic session was held on 8 May 2026, hosted by the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST). The session gathered academicians and researchers from multiple institutions across Myanmar, India, and Malaysia. It also served as a platform for knowledge exchange, strengthening international academic networks, and discussing emerging technologies and their applications in industry and education.
The programme featured four invited speakers who shared insights from their respective areas of expertise. Dr. Aye Chan Mon, Associate Professor from the University of Information Technology (UIT), Yangon, Myanmar, presented on Human–AI Collaboration for Smart Workplaces, focusing on how AI can enhance efficiency, inclusivity, and digital transformation in modern work environments.
This was followed by Dr. Aung Nway Oo, Professor from UIT Yangon, who spoke on The Classroom of Tomorrow: Learning Powered by AI, highlighting the transformative role of artificial intelligence in reshaping teaching, learning experiences, and academic development.
Dr. J. N. Swaminathan from J.N.N Group of Institutions, India, presented Advancing Industry and Infrastructure for Sustainable Development through Startup Ecosystem, emphasising innovation, startups, and industry-academia collaboration in supporting sustainable growth and infrastructure development.
The final speaker, Dr. Ebrahim Esmaili from FIST, Multimedia University, delivered a talk titled Smart Decisions for a Sustainable Future: How Data Drives Real-World Impact, focusing on the role of business intelligence, analytics, and data-driven decision-making in addressing real-world challenges.
The session concluded with positive engagement from participants, reflecting FIST’s continued commitment to fostering international collaboration, academic excellence, and innovation in artificial intelligence, education, and sustainable development.
