The Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) welcomed the return of two outstanding FET graduates as guest speakers to the alumni sharing session themed “Let’s Excel in Final Year Project” on 2nd November 2022. This physical session was hosted by the Final Year Project (FYP) Coordinator, Dr. Kwek Lee Chung, and initiated by the FET Deputy Dean of Student Experience & Alumni (DDSEA), Dr. Liew Kia Wai with the aim to promote meaningful engagement and interaction between the alumni and current engineering students via various themes of knowledge and experience sharing.

The two invited speakers were Mr. Ng Kean Pin, who graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.) Mechanical in the year 2021, and Mr. Lui Poh Wei, a fresh graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.) Electronics majoring in Robotics & Automation. Mr. Ng Kean Pin has been awarded the Permata – Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) Award 2021 in recognition of his outstanding academic and excellent extracurricular achievements, while Mr. Lui Poh Wei is being nominated for the MMU Book Award in the upcoming MMU Convocation 2022.

In the two hours interactive sharing session, both alumni speakers shared their personal experiences and best practices for doing well in their FYP with the current final-year engineering students. The alumni-sharing session received good feedback from the audience as they found the physical session is more enjoyable and informative. They are also looking forward to more sequels of student-alumni-themed-sharing sessions in the future.
