On 7 October 2021, the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) invited the alumni guest speaker, Mr. Teh Wei Hong, who is currently based in China as the Supplier Quality Management Manager of Artsana Group – Caben Product Design (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. to share his knowledge and professional expertise to the engineering undergraduate students in the third episode of the FET Alumni Webinar Series. Mr. Teh has spent about 15 years living and working abroad in the quality management and the manufacturing industry after graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2006.
In the virtual sharing session, Mr. Teh introduced the fundamental knowledge of quality standard process applied in the baby and health care products manufacturing processes and explained the important role play by the quality engineers to ensure the quality of the manufactured products before releasing to the market. In addition, the quality engineer is also tasked with designing the quality standards and performing quality tests during the product development stage. Thus, engineering knowledge is essential in quality management as a quality engineer is required to be well versed in the product design requirements and manufacturing processes in order to maintain and continuously improve the quality of the products.
Towards the end of the interactive Q & A session, Mr. Teh shared his personal experiences working abroad and inspired the FET juniors to unleash their potentials as MMU engineering graduates and prepare themselves to explore the world beyond the boundaries.
