Raisa Alam, our student from the Faculty of Management (FOM) won second place in a speech competition of English Event 2021, recently. Hosted by Mercu Buana English Club (MBEC) of Universitas Mercu Buana Jakarta, a total of 58 students from 26 varsities from Brunei Darussalam, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Philippines, and Indonesia participated in two categories: speech competition and storytelling competition.
Among our students who participated in the English Event 2021 were Darren Bong Yuan Ming (Faculty of Law), Jeffrey Quek Shue Yew (Faculty of Business), Natasha Iskandar (FOB), and Muhammad Shahril Nizam Abdullah (Faculty of Engineering). The students were guided by Mr. Vincent Chan from FOB. Their participation was also supported and sponsored by Student Affairs Division (STAD).
English Event is an annual occasion hosted by MBEC, which has been running for more than 20 years. For this year, this virtual event also collaborated with En-Light which is a platform to inspire youth. En-Light is founded by Mr. Sanjey Kumar, who is a FOB alumnus.
