The participants were from three Southeast Asia Universities; De La Salle University, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok and Naresuan University The presence of MMU as a Trendsetter University in the international arena is further strengthened when Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) organised the first Joint Exchange Programme (Inbound) with three Southeast Asia Universities at MMU Melaka campus on 14 January 2018. The universities involved are De La Salle University – Dasmarinas (Philippines), King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (Thailand) and Naresuan University (Thailand). This exchange programme provides an opportunity for MMU students to engage with 19 students from different countries and cultures as well as to expand their network to international levels. The students also used the platform to socialise and communicate with others in order to build up their self-confidence.  The engineering workshops were conducted to expose the high quality of MMU education to the exchange students from the Philippines and Thailand. Apart from the classroom activities, several sightseeing tours were packed together to expose the participants to the beautiful sceneries of Malaysia. The delegates from each university comprised of the Deans and Deputy Deans came to visit their students before the programme ended.  FET took this opportunity to organise meetings and lab visit, to discuss further on future collaborations as they received positive responses from the students. As the continuation for the programme, FET students will undergo a few Engineering workshops at King Mongkut’s University in June 2018, and also to conduct robotics courses at the local schools as part of their community service.
