A group of lecturers from the Faculty of Business (FOB) attended the National Financial Literacy Symposium 2026 (NFLS 2026), held at Sasana Kijang, Kuala Lumpur, in October 2026. The two-day symposium, themed “No One Left Behind: Bridging Gaps, Securing Futures,” brought together policymakers, educators, financial institutions, industry practitioners and community leaders to discuss the importance of financial literacy and inclusive access to financial services in Malaysia.

The programme featured keynote addresses, panel discussions and expert-sharing sessions covering various aspects of financial well-being, including financial education, retirement planning, digital financial services, consumer protection and financial resilience. Discussions also highlighted the challenges faced by younger generations, vulnerable groups and underserved communities in navigating an increasingly complex financial landscape.

The symposium offered an opportunity to gain broader perspectives on current developments and emerging issues in financial literacy. The insights gained are relevant to their respective academic areas and can help enrich teaching and research, particularly in connecting classroom learning with real-world financial challenges. Their participation reflects FOB’s efforts to keep abreast of developments in the financial sector and bring relevant industry perspectives into its teaching and academic activities.
