A total of 146 students from the Faculty of Business (FOB) put their business ideas to the test through competitive pitching sessions at the Young Creative Entrepreneurs Forum 2026 (YCEF 2026), held at Persada Permata Dunia on 2 October 2026.
Held for the second consecutive year, YCEF 2026 brought together students, academics and industry professionals to provide students with a platform to present their ideas, receive industry feedback and gain a closer understanding of the expectations involved in developing business concepts.
The students participated through two academic subjects, namely BIN6223 Innovation Management and BUD4113 Innovation and Design Thinking. The former involved 74 undergraduate students across 16 groups, while the latter involved 72 diploma students across 17 groups.
During the pitching sessions, student teams presented their business concepts and entrepreneurial solutions to a panel comprising industry professionals and academic evaluators. The session gave students an opportunity to explain their ideas, respond to questions and receive feedback that could help them further refine their proposals.
The forum also featured industry sharing sessions by Ms. Elise Liong, Secretary of SAMENTA and Founder of Apex Noble Sdn Bhd and Elitecore Sdn Bhd, and Mr. Terry Swee Chee Yong, Founder of Vesbo Malaysia, CEO of Redbox Karaoke Malaysia and Redpay Malaysia, as well as Industrial Advisor for the BBA (Hons) International Business programme.
Ms. Elise shared insights from her entrepreneurial journey, focusing on the challenges of building sustainable businesses through innovation and resilience, while Mr. Terry shared practical perspectives on leadership, innovation and digital transformation in today’s competitive business environment.
The forum was an initiative of the Management and International Business Unit, led by Dr. Chow Mei Min, and organised in collaboration with the Multimedia University Business Society (MUBS). The event was led by Event Director Ms. Anushia Chelvarayan and Event Co-Director Ms. Ikha Fadzila.
The closing ceremony was attended by Dr. Siti Zakiah Binti Melatu Samsi, Dean of the Faculty of Business. The programme concluded with a prize-giving ceremony recognising the students’ innovative ideas and presentation performance, followed by a networking luncheon. Overall, YCEF 2026 provided students with an opportunity to take their classroom learning into a competitive setting, where they could present their ideas, engage with industry professionals and gain practical perspectives on entrepreneurship and innovation.
