MMU Connects AI Knowledge with Community Learning

In an effort to equip the community with practical knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence (AI), a programme titled the NADI AI Impact Lab: AI for Everyone – Learn. Apply. Activate. was held at NADI Padungan, Kuching, Sarawak, on 15 September 2026.

Coordinated by CNERGY, the programme featured a session titled “Pintar AI, Kerja Lancar! – Urus Diri, Pelajaran, Kerja dan Bisnes,” conducted by Ts. Rohana Binti Mydin from the Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI) to the local community.

YB Dato’ Seri Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications, also visited the programme and met with the participants. During the session, participants were introduced to the fundamentals of generative artificial intelligence (AI) and its applications in daily life, education, work and business. Through live demonstrations and hands-on activities, they explored several AI tools, including Gemini, Suno and Ideogram, and learned how these tools can be used to support productivity, creativity and content creation.

The session also highlighted the importance of responsible technology use, giving participants the opportunity to gain practical experience in using AI for different purposes. Through its participation in the programme, MMU shared its knowledge and expertise with the community while supporting efforts to enhance digital literacy and awareness of emerging technologies.

The collaboration also reflects the University’s ongoing efforts to connect academic expertise with community learning and development, particularly in equipping communities with relevant knowledge and skills to navigate emerging technologies.
