Three students from the Faculty of Business (FOB) represented the university at the BINUS CONNECT Challenge 2026 recently. Themed “Youth Shaping ASEAN’s Future Together,” the programme brought together students from across the region to collaborate in multicultural teams and co-create innovative solutions addressing challenges facing ASEAN.

Representing FOB were Puvaneswri A/P Kunasegaran and Nichole Lim Yan Rou, both from the Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons.) Human Resource Management programme, as well as Janice Quek Shue Le from the Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons.) International Business programme.

A key highlight was the outstanding achievement of Puvaneswri and her multinational ASEAN team, who emerged as 2nd Runner-Up in the competition. The team developed ASEAN Skillink, an innovative platform designed to empower individuals across ASEAN to develop skills and discover employment opportunities. Combining elements of professional networking, skills development and job matching, the platform connects users with relevant career opportunities while recommending complementary skills and enabling connections with professionals, mentors and peers who share similar interests.

Throughout the challenge, participants researched regional issues and transformed their ideas into practical solutions through a startup-style pitch and executive summary, strengthening their creativity, teamwork, intercultural competence and professional skills. Puvaneswri’s achievement therefore reflects not only competitive excellence but also the potential of cross-border collaboration among ASEAN youth to create meaningful solutions for the region’s future.

FOB also contributed academically to the international programme through Dr. Tan Gek Siang, Deputy Dean of FOB, who served as a final judging panel member at the BINUS CONNECT Challenge Summit. The Summit featured final team presentations, judging and the selection of winning teams and special recognition awards.

The participation and achievement underscore FOB’s commitment to providing students with meaningful international exposure, cross-cultural collaboration and future-ready learning experiences, while strengthening MMU’s engagement within the ASEAN higher education community.
