On 8 September 2026, two students from the Faculty of Business (FOB), Andrea Marie Pinto and Brindarani Logeswaran, presented their research at the ASEAN Academic Forum 2026. The students were under the supervision of Dr Audrey Lim Li Chin, CPA (Aust.). The forum, organised virtually by CPA Australia, commenced with welcoming remarks by Professor Dale Pinto, FCPA, President and Chair of the Board of CPA Australia. The forum featured discussions and presentations involving academics, researchers, industry professionals and accounting practitioners from across ASEAN.

Andrea presented her paper, “TikTok’s Role in Shaping Malaysian Gen Z’s Financial Decision-Making,” while Brindarani presented “The Influence of Social Media on Cryptocurrency Investment Decision Making Among Gen Z.” Their presentations sparked discussions on how social media is shaping financial knowledge, financial literacy and investment behaviour among Gen Z. Overall, the forum gave both students an opportunity to present their research to a regional audience and exchange views on their areas of study.

Well done!
