DBA Fireside Chat Shares Practical Insights into the Dissertation Journey

The Faculty of Management (FOM) successfully organised a Doctor in Business Administration (DBA) Fireside Chat on 12 September 2026 at Siri Lab, FOM. The session, titled “Dissertation Journey: Practical Techniques & Key Takeaways,” provided participants with valuable guidance for navigating their DBA dissertation journey.

The session featured two distinguished DBA alumni: Dr Hong Poh Wai (Kenny), Director of Solution Consulting ASEAN at Oracle Corporation and a member of the DBA Industrial Advisory Panel; and Datuk Dr Raghu Balathamenadan, former Vice President and Managing Director of a multinational corporation and currently an entrepreneur. Drawing on their extensive professional and academic experience, both speakers shared practical techniques, personal experiences and important lessons from their dissertation journeys.

Organised by the DBA Programme Coordinator, Dr Tan Chi Hau, the session was also attended by the Dean of FOM, Prof. Dr Tan Booi Chen, along with Dr Aznur Hajar Binti Abdullah and Mr Chan Man Seong, who were present to support the programme and its candidates. The session offered participants an engaging platform to gain real-world insights, seek advice and better understand the challenges involved in completing a doctoral dissertation.
