
The Business Analytics Unit, Faculty of Business (FOB) organised the Digital Business Forum: Unplug the NextGen Digital Business on 18 August 2026. The forum brought together academic experts, Associate Professor Dr. Abu Hanifah Ayob from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Associate Professor Dr. Zulkifli Mohamed Udin from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), and Dr. Siti Zakiah Bt. Melatu Samsi, Dean of FOB, to discuss how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies are reshaping the business landscape. The session was moderated by Associate Professor Dr. Liew Tze Wei from FOB.
The discussion focused on the future of digital business, industry expectations, graduate competencies, and how universities could better prepare students for next-generation careers. The panellists also shared insights and practical advice on the skills, digital tools, industry experiences, and mindsets that students should develop to remain relevant in an increasingly digital and AI-driven business environment.
In a nutshell, the forum gave students the opportunity to hear directly from experienced academics and gain a better understanding of the skills needed to navigate the changing business landscape. It also provided a platform for students to connect classroom learning with current developments in AI and digital business.
