On 22 July 2026, the Faculty of Business (FOB) organised a Knowledge Transfer Programme (KTP) titled “Startup Ready: Essential Skills for Aspiring Entrepreneurs” at Sekolah Menengah Sains Datuk Setia Abdul Ghani Ali (SAGA), Alor Gajah, Melaka. The initiative reflects MMU’s commitment to community engagement by equipping secondary school students with practical entrepreneurial knowledge and inspiring them to explore innovation and entrepreneurship as future career pathways.
Designed to nurture an entrepreneurial mindset from an early age, the programme introduced students to the fundamentals of entrepreneurship while strengthening essential 21st-century skills such as creativity, critical thinking, communication, teamwork, leadership, problem-solving and financial literacy. Through an engaging blend of group discussions, brainstorming sessions, educational games, business simulations and student presentations, participants experienced entrepreneurship in a practical, collaborative and enjoyable learning environment.
A key highlight of the programme was its experiential learning approach, where MMU academics worked directly with students to translate classroom concepts into real-world business applications. By encouraging participants to generate ideas, develop business solutions and present their concepts with confidence, the programme fostered innovation, ethical decision-making and entrepreneurial thinking among the students.
Beyond enriching the students’ learning experience, the programme strengthened the partnership between MMU and SAGA while reaffirming the University’s commitment to sharing knowledge with the wider community. Through initiatives such as this, MMU continues to empower young minds with the skills, confidence and entrepreneurial mindset needed to thrive in an increasingly dynamic and innovation-driven world.
The programme was led by Ms. Haniza Hashim and supported by Ms. Anushia A/P Chelvarayan, Ms. Shadia Suhaimi, Ms. Hazlaili Hashim, Ms. Siti Nurul Huda Mohd, Dr. Yeo Sook Fern and Ms. Nur Baiti Shafee. The event was also attended by SAGA Principal, Mr. Shafian Bin Ishak, Senior Assistant of Administration, Ms. Zulindawati, and teacher, Mr. Amin Bin Zainudin, whose support underscored the strong collaboration between MMU and SAGA in advancing entrepreneurship education and community development.
