A delegation from the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST) comprising four Matching Grant project leaders, Dr. Jashila Nair Mogan, Ms. Sharifah Noor Masidayu Sayed Ismail, Ms. Pa Pa Min, and Mr. Thinesh Ganesan, recently strengthened international research collaboration through a series of strategic engagements with research partners at Telkom University, Bandung, Indonesia in July 2026.

The engagements centred on advancing the respective Matching Grant projects by reviewing research progress, exchanging expertise, and identifying strategies to achieve shared research objectives. The discussions also created opportunities to enhance collaboration, foster knowledge exchange, and explore future research initiatives between the partnering institutions.

Supporting the delegation throughout the engagements was Ts. Dr. Sumendra Yogarayan, Deputy Dean (Postgraduate and Collaborations), FIST, whose participation underscored the faculty’s commitment to empowering staff-led research and expanding international collaborative networks.

As part of the programme, the delegation visited the Humic Engineering Research Center to gain insights into the centre’s research capabilities and explore potential areas for interdisciplinary collaboration. The visit provided a valuable platform for sharing expertise and identifying opportunities for future joint research initiatives.

The delegation also met with Dr. Kemas Muslim Lhaksmana, Dean of the School of Computing, Telkom University, to exchange perspectives on emerging research trends and discuss opportunities to further strengthen academic and research collaboration between both institutions.

The engagements reflect MMU’s continued commitment to strengthening international research partnerships through the Matching Grant initiative. By fostering collaboration with global academic partners, the university continues to expand opportunities for impactful research, innovation, and knowledge exchange while contributing to the advancement of research excellence on the international stage.
