A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between MMU and UTM SPACE Services Sdn. Bhd., marking the beginning of a strategic collaboration aimed at expanding academic opportunities, strengthening student progression pathways, and advancing higher education in Malaysia on 16 July 2026.

The signing ceremony brought together the leaders of the participating institutions, including MMU President, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud and Chief Executive Officer of UTM SPACE Services, Assoc. Prof.  Mazlan Mohamad Abdul Hamed.

Highlighting the rapidly evolving landscape driven by digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), and emerging technologies, Prof. Mazliham emphasised the importance of strategic partnerships among higher education institutions in nurturing future-ready graduates and contributing to the nation’s economic and social development. Beyond facilitating student progression, the MoU is expected to pave the way for broader collaboration in academic programmes, research, innovation, professional development, industry engagement, executive education, and lifelong learning initiatives.

The ceremony concluded with a shared aspiration for the partnership to create lasting value for the participating institutions, students, industry, and the nation, while strengthening long-term collaboration in support of Malaysia’s higher education ecosystem.

Among the other attendees were Mr. Zambri Pawanchik, Vice President of Strategic Marketing, Admission and Recruitment; Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Siti Fatimah Abdul Razak, Dean of Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST), Dr. Loh Yuen Peng, Deputy Dean of Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI), Ms. Nalini R.S. Pragasam; and other MMU officers.
