Exploring Leadership and the Role of Accounting in a Changing Business Landscape

The Faculty of Management (FOM) conducted an industry talk featuring Mr. Richard Jacob, Principal Consultant of RCJ Consulting Sdn. Bhd. and HRD Corp-certified trainer, who shared insights on “Self-Managed Leadership in a Changing World” and “The Value of Accounting in Turbulent Times.”

The speaker highlighted how adaptability, self-leadership, and sound decision-making are increasingly important in today’s dynamic business environment, while also emphasising the role of accounting information in guiding organisations through uncertainty.

Through the sharing session, students were exposed to real industry perspectives that complemented their classroom learning, particularly on how accounting supports strategic decision-making in practice. The interactive discussion allowed students to relate theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios, making the learning experience more meaningful and engaging.

Coordinated by Ms. Nithiya and Ms. Rekha, the session provided valuable encouragement for students to strengthen their leadership mindset and decision-making skills in preparation for future professional challenges.
