Multimedia University (MMU) and Infineon Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. further strengthened their long-standing partnership through the celebration of Infineon Week 2026, reaffirming their shared commitment to nurturing future-ready talent and advancing industry-academia collaboration. The closing ceremony was held at the Melaka campus on 15 June 2026, with the presence of Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU, and Mr. Eng Seng Meng, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Infineon Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., together with senior management representatives from both organisations.
In his remarks, the MMU President expressed appreciation for Infineon’s unwavering support over the years in making Infineon Week a meaningful platform for learning, engagement, and industry exposure. The collaboration between MMU and Infineon dates back to 2009 with the signing of their first Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Since then, it has evolved into a strong industry-academia partnership that supports the development of an “industry in campus” ecosystem.
Among its notable outcomes is the Infineon Corner, launched in January 2024, which has become an active space for students from various disciplines to learn, collaborate, and exchange ideas. The University also takes pride in seeing many of its Permata Dunia alumni flourishing at Infineon, with several returning to campus during Infineon Week to share their experiences through programmes such as the Career Talk and Alumni Industrial Forum.
Over the years, both parties have collaborated on a wide range of initiatives, including industrial sharing sessions, student internships, Industrial Advisory Panel appointments, technical training, curriculum embedment activities, industry-based Final Year Projects (FYPs), and technology showcases.
Another highlight of Infineon Week 2026 was the Innovative Project and Research Poster Competition, which featured 20 shortlisted Final Year Projects and 20 research posters from the engineering and information technology disciplines. As the event concluded, both MMU and Infineon reaffirmed their shared commitment to cultivating talent, driving innovation, and strengthening the link between academia and industry, paving the way for more impactful collaborations in the future.
