A total of 19 Bachelor of Accounting students from the Faculty of Management (FOM), participated in the 26th Accountancy Week Challenge organised by the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) in collaboration with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

The four-day programme was held at Universiti Putra Malaysia in April 2026, was centred on the theme “Empowering Next-Gen Accountants” and brought together accounting undergraduates from public and private higher education institutions across Malaysia.

The programme, officiated by Datuk Soo Hoo Khoon Yean, President of MICPA, featured a range of activities including business discussions, simulations, sports, games, and networking sessions aimed at developing diverse student talents. MMU students took part in the business management simulation game, explorace, and accounting quiz, with one team advancing to the top five finalists in the simulation category, demonstrating strong analytical and teamwork capabilities.

Beyond competition results, the participation gave students valuable industry exposure and benchmarking opportunities, where they were able to interact with peers from other institutions and experience real-world decision-making scenarios. The experience also helped strengthen key graduate attributes such as communication, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving, in line with MMU’s commitment to producing industry-ready graduates who are competitive, adaptable, and actively engaged in professional development at the national level.
