MMU Recognises Student Athletic Excellence at Annual Appreciation Night

MMU celebrated the achievements of its student-athletes at the MMU Sports Appreciation Night 2025, held to honour outstanding sporting performance, dedication, and resilience throughout the year recently. The event, organised by the Student Lifestyle and Experience (STYLE), was attended by the MMU President, Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud who joined athletes, coaches, and university community members in recognising their accomplishments and contributions to the university’s sporting success.

The evening highlighted MMU student-athletes who represented the university and Malaysia in various competitions at inter-varsity, national, and international levels, including the SEA Games 2025 in Bangkok. Among the notable achievements were gold, silver, and bronze medal wins across archery, cricket, watersports, and athletics, as well as record-breaking performances in varsity track and field. These accomplishments reflected not only sporting excellence but also the athletes’ discipline, resilience, and commitment to balancing sports with academic responsibilities.

MMU also reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its sports ecosystem through improved training facilities, enhanced academic support for student-athletes, and expanded talent development initiatives. The university also extended its appreciation to industry partners FELET International Sdn. Bhd., Paragon Vest Sdn. Bhd., and KELME Malaysia for their continued sponsorship and strong support, as MMU looks forward to upcoming competitions including SUKIPT 2026.
