Two industry leaders, Mr. Mahathir Said, Chief Executive Officer of TM Nxera, and Mr. Roshdi Hj Ahmad, Acting Chief Executive Officer of CyberSecurity Malaysia, engaged with the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST) in a series of sessions as Adjunct Professors of Practice.
The engagements form part of FIST’s ongoing efforts to strengthen academia–industry collaboration and align academic direction with current industry developments. The discussions covered emerging technological trends, cybersecurity developments, and evolving expectations from the industry perspective.
Both sessions provided a platform for knowledge exchange between faculty members and industry leaders, with a focus on identifying potential areas for collaboration and ensuring academic programmes remain relevant to industry needs.
The sessions were chaired by Ts. Dr. Sumendra Yogarayan, Deputy Dean (Postgraduate and Collaborations), with participation from faculty members and programme representatives. The initiative reflects FIST’s continued effort to work more closely with industry in shaping teaching, research, and programme relevance.
