FIST Brings Together International Experts in Online Academic Event on Healthcare and AI Innovation

The Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST) recently organised an international online academic event titled “Innovating for Better Health, Smarter Systems, and Connected Lives”. The programme brought together academicians and researchers from Malaysia, India, and Indonesia, reflecting growing cross-border collaboration in healthcare, technology, and innovation.

The session featured Prof. Shivendu Dubey from Gyan Ganga Institute of Technology & Sciences, India, who spoke on artificial intelligence and machine learning in transforming healthcare systems; Dr. Adeshina from FIST, MMU, who shared insights on telemedicine and digital healthcare access; and Dr. Usfita Kiftiyani from Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Indonesia, who presented research on human motion analysis and machine learning applications. Their sharing highlighted how emerging technologies are shaping healthcare delivery and intelligent systems development.

The event also provided a platform for academic networking and potential research collaboration among participating institutions. It was coordinated by Ts. Dr. Sumendra Yogarayan, Deputy Dean (Postgraduate and Collaborations), with support from the organising team. All in all, the initiative helped the faculty foster international collaboration and advance research in future-oriented technology areas.
