MMU through its Faculty of Business (FOB) successfully organised a 15-day International e-Student Mobility Programme from 3 to 17 December 2025, themed “Empowering Digital Minds Through Cross-Cultural Collaboration.” The virtual programme attracted 305 students from Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand, demonstrating MMU’s strong commitment to internationalisation and digital learning.

MMU served as the main organiser, working closely with Universitas Mercu Buana (Indonesia), Universitas Pakuan (Indonesia), and Silpakorn University (Thailand). The programme enabled seamless cross-border participation while fostering meaningful intercultural exchange among students from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds.

The programme commenced with an opening ceremony featuring welcoming remarks from the Deans of the participating faculties namely Asst. Prof. Dr. Siti Zakiah Melatu Samsi (Dean, Faculty of Business, Multimedia University), Asst. Prof. Dr. Natthaporn Karnjanapoomi (Dean, Faculty of Information Communication and Technology, Silpakorn University, Thailand), Dr. Towaf Totok Irawan (Dean, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Pakuan, Indonesia)and Dr. Melly Ridaryanthi (Dean Representative, Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Mercu Buana, Indonesia). The opening ceremony was officiated by Prof. Dr. Wong Eng Kiong, the Vice President of Market Exploration, Engagement and Touchpoint. A cultural performance, Tarian Bhinneka by Universitas Mercu Buana, set a vibrant tone, celebrating unity in diversity and regional collaboration.

Throughout the programme, students participated in a series of expert-led webinars, interactive group discussions, and collaborative showcases. Webinar topics included digital marketing transformation, immersive technologies and artificial intelligence, user interface and experience design, digital identity, gender equality, customer experience, branding, and ethical challenges in emerging technologies. Speakers comprised academics and industry professionals from across Southeast Asia and beyond, providing students with valuable global perspectives.

A key highlight was the student showcase sessions, where multinational teams explored themes such as local food heritage, iconic cultural attractions, and folklore narratives. These activities encouraged creativity, teamwork, and the practical application of digital and intercultural competencies.

The programme concluded with a lively closing ceremony featuring student sharing sessions and performance showcases by each partner university. Performances ranged from Malay traditional dances to modern hip-hop and a choir performance of “I Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.” Outstanding groups were recognised for their creativity and collaboration.

Overall, the International e-Student Mobility Programme strengthened regional academic ties, enhanced students’ global outlook, and reaffirmed MMU’s role as a hub for innovative, inclusive, and internationally connected education.
