


MMU and Huawei Malaysia celebrated the outstanding achievements of young innovators at the 10th Huawei National ICT Competition 2025–2026 Award Ceremony, held at the Courtyard by Marriott Kuala Lumpur South on 1 December 2025. The event was graced by Datuk Ts. Dr. Mohd Nor Azman Hassan, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education.
Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU, extended a warm welcome to all attendees and highlighted that the partnership between MMU and Huawei not only equips students with cutting-edge ICT skills but also prepares them to lead innovation in an increasingly digital world.
The ceremony featured the announcement of winners across multiple categories, including the Most Dedicated Instructor Award, Outstanding ICT Academy Award, and the grand prizes, as well as first and second prizes for the Innovation, Computing, Network, and Cloud tracks.
Four MMU academics were recognised with the Most Dedicated Instructor Award: Dr. Prabha Kumaresan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Sin Ban, Ts. Dr. Lee Fong Yee and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ng Kok Why. Meanwhile, Prof. Ts. Dr. Lau Siong Hoe, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI), received the Outstanding ICT Academy Award, alongside representatives from other participating universities.
Other than that, two MMU teams of students won second runner-up positions at the national level of the ICT Practice Competition. Under the Cloud track, the winning team comprised Do Wai Lung, Sumedha Endar, and Fernando Lim Jia Yee, mentored by Ts. Dr. Goh Pey Yun. Under the Computing track, the team consisted of Koay Yee Shuen, Muhammad Ameer Rafiqi, and Chew Wei Zhi, mentored by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Ho Sin Ban. The event went successfully with the support of the FCI and FIST as well as Chinese Language Society (CLS) lion dance team and singing team.
