Three MMU alumni shared their career journeys and professional experiences with students during a corporate visit to SLB’s office in Petaling Jaya, organised by Career Connect in collaboration with the CARE Unit in September 2026.

The alumni featured in the session were Ms Aida Natasha, MMU Alumni Class of 2017 from the Faculty of Management (FOM), who serves as a User Experience Designer; Mr Michael Cheng, MMU Alumni Class of 2014 from the Faculty of Computing (FOC), who serves as Digital Finance Portfolio Manager; and Mr Hairul Ashraf Hamidi, MMU Alumni Class of 2019 from FOM, who serves as HR Process & Systems Analyst.

Through the panel session titled “Navigating New Career Challenges: Insights and Experience Sharing,” they shared their experiences of building their careers at a global technology and energy company. The session offered students different perspectives on career development. Aida spoke about her transition from the Finance Department to IT, while Michael shared his 15-year career journey with SLB, including professional experiences across several states in the United States. Hairul highlighted how technology and automation have shaped his work in improving employee experience and streamlining HR processes.

Beyond the alumni sharing session, students took part in an office tour, an interactive quiz and discussions with SLB representatives. They were also introduced to SLB’s Neurodiversity Internship Programme, providing insight into inclusive workplace practices and potential internship opportunities. The visit gave students an opportunity to connect with alumni, learn from their professional experiences and gain a closer understanding of career pathways beyond university.
