Maryam binti Muhammad Najib, a student of King Sejong Institute (KSI) MMU Melaka, represented the institute at the 2026 King Sejong Institute Training Program for Outstanding Learners in South Korea, joining 180 participants from around the world in October 2026.
The programme offered Maryam the opportunity to experience Korean culture through activities such as traditional games, mother-of-pearl craft making and visits to cultural landmarks, including Gyeongbokgung Palace, Namsangol Hanok Village and Gwanghwamun Square. She also explored Korean food culture and celebrated Hangeul Day Eve with fellow participants.
Beyond the cultural activities, the programme allowed Maryam to practise her Korean communication skills, gain confidence and connect with Korean language learners from diverse backgrounds.
Maryam expressed her gratitude to the King Sejong Institute Foundation and the organisers for the opportunity, describing the experience as an unforgettable journey that deepened her appreciation for Korean language and culture and motivated her to continue learning. Her participation highlights the opportunities available through KSI MMU Melaka for learners to complement their language studies with cultural immersion and international exposure.
