Two academics from the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST), recently shared their expertise as keynote speakers at international conferences in Indonesia and India, focusing on digital innovation, artificial intelligence (AI) and connected mobility.

On 26 September 2026, Ts. Dr. Neo Han Foon, Deputy Dean (Institute of Postgraduate Studies) delivered an online keynote address at the International Conference Health, Science and Technology (ICOHETECH) 2026, organised by Universitas Duta Bangsa Surakarta, Indonesia. The conference focused on accelerating the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through innovation in health, science and technology in the digital era.

Dr. Neo’s keynote, titled Digital Innovation and Artificial Intelligence in Supporting the Sustainable Achievement of the SDGs, explored the role of digital innovation and AI in addressing societal challenges and supporting the SDGs. The session also touched on the use of emerging technologies to improve efficiency, accessibility and decision-making across different sectors.

Meanwhile, Ts. Dr. Sumendra Yogarayan, Deputy Dean (Postgraduate and Collaborations), FIST, delivered an online keynote address at the 3rd Conference on Multidisciplinary Research and Innovations in Engineering (MRIE-2026) on 25 September 2026. Hosted by the School of Engineering and Technology, K.R. Mangalam University, Sohna, Gurugram, India, the conference brought together researchers, academics, industry professionals and students to discuss developments in engineering and technology.

Dr. Sumendra’s keynote, titled Connected Vehicle Continuum: Opportunities, Challenges and Future Directions, examined developments in connected vehicle technologies, including opportunities and challenges related to connectivity, interoperability, security and the integration of emerging technologies. He also shared possible directions for future research in connected and intelligent transportation systems.

The participation of both FIST academics as keynote speakers highlights the faculty’s involvement in international knowledge-sharing platforms and its expertise in areas including AI, digital innovation and emerging technologies.
