FIST Engages DHL APSSC to Align Talent Development with Industry Needs

The Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST) is exploring closer engagement with DHL Asia Pacific Shared Services Centre (APSSC) following a meeting held at the FIST Meeting Room on 18 September 2026. The discussion, led by Ts. Dr. Sumendra Yogarayan, Deputy Dean of Postgraduate and Collaborations, brought together members of the FIST Strategic Partnership and Mobility Committee and Mr. Saiful Nahar Mohd Rusli, Senior Manager, HR Global Finance Services – Express, representing DHL APSSC. The session provided an avenue for both parties to exchange views on the expectations, skills and experiences needed by today’s workforce.

Among the areas discussed was the potential for internship opportunities for FIST students, alongside greater industry exposure, talent development and knowledge sharing. Mr. Saiful also shared perspectives from the industry on the qualities and competencies that can help students navigate the transition from university to the workplace. By opening conversations with industry players such as DHL APSSC, FIST continues to explore avenues that can give students greater exposure to professional environments while creating opportunities for future engagement in talent development and career preparation.
