
On 5 August 2026, MMU Press conducted a workshop entitled “Enhancing Editorial Practices for Successful Journal and Book Indexing”, aimed at bringing together editors, researchers, and academics to explore strategies for strengthening the visibility and impact of scholarly publications at the Cyberjaya campus.
The renowned speaker, Prof. Dato’ Dr Roslan Abd. Shukor, highlighted the critical role of editorial standards in ensuring that journals and books meet the requirements of major indexing databases. He emphasised best practices in manuscript evaluation, metadata preparation, and adherence to ethical publishing guidelines. Practical insights were also shared on how editorial teams can streamline workflows, improve citation accuracy, and align with international indexing criteria.
Participants engaged in interactive discussions on challenges faced by academic publishers, including evolving indexing policies and the need for digital adaptability. This initiative underscores the importance of continuous professional development in editorial practices, positioning institutions and publishers for greater success in global research dissemination.
