The Faculty of Management (FOM) organised a hybrid briefing for its international Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Management students in June 2026. The briefing was held at the Executive Meeting Room, FOM, and conducted simultaneously via Microsoft Teams to accommodate students who were unable to attend in person.

Coordinated by Programme Coordinator, Dr. Sellywati Mohd Faizal, together with Ms. Rahayu and Ms. Norsheha from the Faculty Administration, the briefing focused on student visa compliance and academic progress requirements. Students were updated on the University’s expectations regarding their studies and received guidance on maintaining their visa status throughout their postgraduate programme. The session also provided an opportunity for students to raise questions and seek clarification from the relevant university representatives.

The briefing drew encouraging participation, with nearly 80 students attending physically and 123 joining online. Also present were FOM Dean, Prof. Dr. Tan Booi Chen, Deputy Dean (Postgraduate and Collaborative Programmes), Dr. Kwan Jing Hui, representatives from the International Student Centre (ISC), Mr. Seritheren and Ms. Nurul ‘Izza, as well as Dr. Chong Choy Yoke from the Institute of Postgraduate Studies (IPS), who shared information and addressed students’ enquiries.

The initiative reflects FOM’s ongoing efforts to keep its international postgraduate students well informed while supporting them throughout their studies at MMU.
