An industrial visit to the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur (WPKL) was participated by students from the Diploma in Digital Business and Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) (Digital Business Management) in June 2026. Organised by the Business Analytics Department, Faculty of Business (FOB), the visit enabled students to better understand the department’s role in facilitating trade, ensuring regulatory compliance, and safeguarding the nation’s economic interests, while connecting classroom learning with real-world industry practices.

During the visit, officers from the tax, customs, compliance and enforcement divisions shared their expertise on the department’s key functions and career opportunities. Students also toured the department’s data centre and enforcement facilities, where they observed how digital systems and operational processes support customs operations, giving them a deeper appreciation of how technology is applied in the public sector.

Through engagements such as this, students broaden their career perspectives, enhance their practical understanding of digital business, and strengthen their readiness for the evolving workplace.
