On 21 April 2026, Multimedia University (MMU) received national recognition for its collaboration with MYNIC Berhad, an agency under the Ministry of Digital, in strengthening Malaysia’s digital ecosystem during the seminar “Preparing for Tomorrow’s Threat: The Impact of Quantum Computing on Internet Security”, held at Le Méridien Hotel, Putrajaya.

During the event, MMU was represented by Ts. Mohamad Firdaus Mat Saad, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI), who received an appreciation plaque from YB Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital. The recognition highlights MMU’s active role in supporting national digital initiatives, particularly through its collaboration with MYNIC Berhad in promoting greater awareness and adoption of .MY domains as Malaysia’s digital identity on the global stage.

Earlier on 14 April 2026, MMU was also invited to contribute to the University Student Tech Talk titled “The Digital Compass: Navigating the World of DNS and the .MY Ecosystem”, held at the MMU Cyberjaya campus. The session engaged around 100 students and provided exposure to domain name systems and the broader digital infrastructure supporting Malaysia’s online ecosystem.

These engagements reflect MMU’s growing visibility and recognition at national level, as well as its continued commitment to advancing digital transformation through strategic collaboration with industry and government partners.
