200 students from the Faculty of Management (FOM) had an enriching experience exploring the evolving world of artificial intelligence during a talk on “Responsible AI: Safeguarding Trust, Safety, and Governance in the Era of Agentic AI” on 6 April 2026 at the Cyberjaya campus. Delivered by Dr. Tun Thura Thet, Chief Solutions Architect at Nirvasoft and Adjunct Professor at MMU, the session introduced students to AI concepts, its evolution from rule-based systems to agentic AI, and its applications in business and society. Students gained an understanding of how AI enhances productivity, supports decision-making, and drives growth, while also learning about the potential risks such as misinformation and AI errors.
A major focus of the session was Responsible AI principles, including transparency, accountability, fairness, privacy protection, and human oversight. Dr. Tun Thura Thet highlighted global standards and regulations, such as UNESCO guidelines and data protection rules, demonstrating that AI must operate ethically and legally. Practical insights on governance, consent, data minimisation, and the right to be forgotten helped students see how AI intersects with business law, compliance, and corporate responsibility.
The talk also addressed the future of work in an AI-driven world, emphasising that while some jobs may change or be replaced, new opportunities will arise, and success will depend on working alongside AI responsibly. For FOM students studying Business Law, the session bridged theory, technology, and legal governance, highlighting that innovation is meaningful only when it is ethical, accountable, and aligned with societal values.
