In a meaningful effort to empower youth and support underprivileged communities, Sekretariat Rakan Muda, in collaboration with MMU and several welfare organisations, hosted Program Rakan Muda: Selangor Barakah, providing a platform for orphans and asnaf children to engage in learning, personal development, and charitable activities during the holy month of Ramadan.

The closing ceremony was officiated by Tuan Syamsul Tahrin Bin Mohd Tahir, Director of the Selangor State Youth and Sports Department (JBSN), and attended by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU, on 15 March 2026 during the Majlis Iftar Perdana at the Cyberjaya campus. Also present were Prof. Ir. Dr. Zulfadzli Yusoff, Vice President of Student Experience and Entrepreneurship Development, along with Mr. Muhammad Usamah Zaid Yasin from Permata Dunia and other distinguished guests.

The initiative involved the participation of orphans and asnaf children from selected welfare homes, including Pusat Jagaan Kasih Ehsan Sejati, Baitul Sakinah As-Shariff, Maahad Tahfiz Nailun Najah, Pusat Jagaan At-Taqwa, Pertubuhan Rumah Anak Yatim Miskin Daerah Kuala Langat, and Asrama Kasih Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan Serendah.

Throughout the programme, participants took part in various interactive learning modules that emphasised elements of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) alongside the inculcation of Islamic values, providing meaningful learning experiences while nurturing positive values and personal development.

In conjunction with the month of Ramadan, the programme also featured charitable activities, including the presentation of Hari Raya Aidilfitri contributions to the participating orphans and asnaf children.  The initiative reflects the strong commitment of Rakan Muda MMU Cyberjaya and the Student Lifestyle and Experience (STyLE) unit in fostering volunteerism, community engagement, and youth development through impactful programmes that benefit society.
